There are children dieing of AIDS. Poverty rapes cultures every day. There is corruption in our governments, schools and churches. The very fabric of civilized society is unraveling in cultures around the globe. And what is the biggest public debate in America right now? Should be say “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays?”
The human race is embarrassing. But what’s worse is that this debate seems to be coming most enthusiastically from Christians.
People, if Wal-Mart says “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” Jesus is NOT threatened. He is still on the throne. They should say “Happy Holidays.” They serve people of many creeds.
What would the world look like if Christians took that energy and put it where it is needed-loving people, bringing healing and comfort to the dieing, fighting for the oppressed and, in general, not getting caught up in what may be the dumbest debate in the history of American public discourse.
Sometimes it seems like Christians are playing little league in the middle of a war zone, but somehow convince themselves that what they are doing is important. But I can be judgemental.
