“I have been really needy lately and I don’t like it. in fact, there is this guy that I don’t even like all that much, but the attention feels good. I had a bad day so i asked him to come over and move something for me. i knew if i appealed to the ‘big strong man-hero’ in him that he would show up. serisouly, I worked him. I’m horrible. Do you know what it’s like…”

“to need an emotional booty call? uh, yeah.”

“We need Jesus.”

“Uh, yeah.”

y’all aren’t alone. sadly, i think this occurs more often than anyone wants to recognize. when do we decide that the Lord telling us we’re worthy, loved, and unique is not as important as picking up a phone and hearing it from a boy who’s just as sinful as us? who will inevitably let us down- when a just, merciful, patient God is waiting to bless us with unending favor that does not end? oooo, convicting.

“if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and CLEANSE US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS!!!”

Ok, so I don’t have time on my lunch break to give this a proper treatment but……

Sticking a bad word next to a good one doesn’t make a thing wrong. It wasn’t an an adulterous salutation it was, in truth, me saying helo to someones wife and nothing more.

So you need, thats not a bad thing its Biblical truth. The word doesn’t say “encourage one another daily as long as you are pledging your life and undying affection”. So you gave a guy an opportunity to serve and feel needed, so you were blessed by it, GOOD JOB, keep doing that.

“He loves Thee too little who loves anything together with Thee, which he loves not for Thy sake.” – Augustine

Ive been thinking about that quote for weeks now, trying to employ the truth of it. If God had wanted to be the only thing you desire He would have grown you in a cave. Love God most and love others with abandon because it glorifys Him. How do we not see that all these church rules simply put chains on comunity. We were made to be dependent on God most and dependent on others cause God said so and He knows whats best. Now Im off to work, have a great one.

JH translator has nothin for you, cheryl- that part didn’t make sense to me either. however, i’m also exceptionally sleepy and detoxing off turkey, so that may be my excuse too.
